The following are highlights
of many projects performed by Calhoun Communications:
- Mall of America Digital wireless content
delivery system.
- Design and
installation of many broadcast studio, transmitter,
and tower facilities.
- Contracted by Data Transmission
Network to design, install, and maintain a 53 site
data distribution network using FM subcarrier technology.
- Design
and installation of point-to-point microwave links
in the 450 MHz and 950 MHz
band for audio, remote transmitter control, and telemetry.
- Installation of an Air Traffic
Control radio system in Far East Russia for the Russian
ATC. These sites were installed on mountaintops using
solar power with battery backup for power.
- Installation of an “all digital” Radio
studio facility in Budapest, Hungary.
- Contracted
by DTN Speed Net to design and install a 145 city
Wireless ISP network
infrastructure using point to point and point to
multipoint technology in the 2.4 GHz and 5.8
GHz band.
- Performed over 300
site surveys for High-speed wireless networks.
- Contracted
to design, install, and maintain a 43 remote site
wireless network for the
City of Sioux City. This incorporated point to point
as well as point to multipoint in the 2.4
GHz and 5.8 GHz.
- Rebuilt an HF antenna
farm on the Hawaiian island of Molokai.
- Contracted
by Harris Corporation to perform a frequency change
on 7 transmitters and
antennas in Jamaica.
- Contracted
by the FCC as a consultant for frequency allocation
and interference issues.
- Installed and
maintained 2 Television studio and transmitter facilities.
- Contracted
to perform a frequency change for point-to-point
microwave hops for 2
utility companies in Minnesota.
- Performed
a variety of signal strength measurements for broadcast
radio and television.
- Fort MCCoy Wisconsin Police department
wireless video surveillance systems.
- Huron,
South Dakota mobile network connectivity for Huron
Police Department.
- MOC-FV Maurice, Orange City, Floyd
Valley 7 location networks and indoor networking,
Wireless wide area network connecting schools over
a range of 12 miles.
- Wells Dairy in LeMars ,Iowa
Covering LeMars Iowa and all thier production facility
multi-point wide area network.
- Coleman Power Mate indoor wireless
LAN network integrations.
